Route: Almaty city – Shymbulak – Talgarskiy pass – Left Talgar valley – Toguzak Kingdom – climbing –  Tourists pass – Ozernaya gorge – Big Almaty lake – Almaty city

The Muryntau peak is one of the biggest peaks in the Nothern Tien Shan. We can organize other mountaineering route in this area (level – F): Zhusandy-Kungey peak 4.566 m, Abalakov peak 4.427 m, SGU peak 4.464 m, Sovet Mountaineer peak 4.379 m and ect.

Programme

Day 1. Transfer to the Medeu (30 min). Cableway. Medeu-Shymbulak-Talgarsky pass 3.165 m (1 h). Trekking. Left Talgar gorge – Red glade – Alpine Rose glade – Sun glade.

Distance 11 km; 6-7 hrs. Difference in height +450 m / -965 m (3.165-2.250-2.700 m).

Day 2. Tourists river – Hydrologist house – Toguzak Kingdom.

Distance 10,5 km; 7-8 hrs. Difference in height +1.000 m (2.700 m-3.650 m).

Day 3. Toguzak glacier – Pass 4.220 m – Muryntau peak. Return to the camp.

Distance 12 km; 7-8 hrs. Difference in height +860 m / -860 m (3.650-4.510-3.650 m).

Day 4. Reserve day.

Day 5. Tourists river – moraine of glacier.

Distance 10 km; 5-6 h. Difference in height -700 m / +600 (3.650-2.950-3.550 m).

Day 6. Tourists pass – Kyzylsay river – Ozernaya gorge – Big Almaty lake. Transfer to Almaty (1,5 hrs).

Distance 20 km; 8-9 h. Difference in height +430 m / 1.470 m (3.550-3.980-2.510 m).

• Porter – $100 / 1 day. The guide carries only group equipment (tents, kitchen equipment, primus and gas).
