Route: Shymkent city – Sayramsu gorge – Wild Climbers gorge – First lake – Second lake – Koptau peak (for acclimatization) – Kirgiyli gorge – Sayram peak – Sayramsu gorge – Shymkent city

Sayram peak is the highest peak of the Ugam range relative to the system of Western Tien Shan. The height of 4238 m. The first half of the program (1,2 days) is designed to acclimatize the participants of the tour. In the third day we descend the valley Sayramsu and begin the approach to the peak Sayram through the gorge Kirgili, where you can go to the easiest route to the summit of the peak Sayram. Set the camp at an altitude of 3350 m. On the fourth day of the planned climbing to the Sayram peak on the North-Western ridge. The fifth day is the final day of the trekking. We descended from the last camp down the gorge, where we will take the our car.

Programme

Day 1. Transfer Shymkent-Sayramsu gorge (1,5 hrs). Trekking. Sayramsu gorge – Wild Climbers gorge.

Distance 7 km; 3,5 hrs. Difference in height +420 m (1.680-2.000 m).

Day 2. First and Second lake of Sayramsu gorge – Koptau peak. Return to the camp.

Distance 18 km; 8-10 hrs. Difference in height +1.650 m / -1.650 m (2.000-3.650-2.000 m).

Day 3. Sayramsu gorge – Kirgiyli gorge – moraine.

Distance 10 km; 7-8 hrs. Difference in height -170 m / +1.520 m (2.000-1.830-3.350 m).

Day 4. Climbing to the Sayram peak. Return to the camp.

Distance 6 km; 7-8 hrs. Difference in height +900 m / -900 m (3.350-4.238-3.350 m).

Day 5. Down to the Sayramsu gorge. Transfer to Shymkent city (1,5 hrs).

Distance 11 km; 5 hrs. Difference in height  -1.670 m (3.350-1.680 m).

• Porter – $100 / 1 day. The guide carries only group equipment (tents, kitchen equipment, primus and gas)
• Ticket to Shymkent city from Almaty (plane – one way price from $40, or train – price from $15)
