Discover the magic of Tien Shan mountains on one of our Inn-based hiking tours around Almaty city! On inn-based hiking trips you can focus 100% on the trekking experience . Your only “job” is absorbing and enjoying all the destination of your choice has to offer – its breathtaking views, challenging and fulfilling days of hiking, awe-inspiring natural, wildlife, and unique natural wonders. You’ll hike by day and at night sleep in hotels. The character and amenities of these accommodations vary significantly, some being quite elaborate and others being very basic.
Programme
Day 1. Transfer Almaty city – Kazachka gorge (45 min). Kazachka river – Kokjailau valley – Kumbel peak – Trapetcia pass – Gorelnik gorge – Small Almaty gorge – Namaste hostel/Shymbulak hotel
Distance: 18 km; 8-10 h. Difference in height: + 1530 m / -1290 m (1690-3220-1930 m).
Day 2. Tuyuksu valley – Alpinist’s memorial – Mynjilki dam – Alpingrad alpine meadow – moraine lake №6 – back to Shymbulak.
Distance: 19 km; 8-10 h. Difference in height: + 1720 m / -1420 m (1930-3650-2230 m).
Day 3. Talgarskiy pass (up to cable car) – Chimbulachka peak – Panorama peak – Butakovskiy pass – Kotyrbulak peak – Bukreev peak – Kotyrbulak gorge – Pioneer hotel.
Distance: 14 km; 6-7 h. Difference in height: +600 m / -1840 m (3160-3450-3260-3350-2900-3030-1920 m).
Day 4. Almatau range – Krasniy Yar valley – Belbulak gorge – Kokozek pass – Aktas plateau – Oi Karagai resort. Transfer to Almaty city (1-1,5 h).
Distance: 13 km; 6 h. Difference in height: + 700 m / -1020 m (1920-2360-2100-2300-1600 m).
