Hiking route №1

Day 1. Transfer Almaty city – Kazachka gorge (45 min). Kazachka river – Kokjailau valley – Batareika gorge – Prosveschenetc – Medeu hotel.

Distance: 11 km; 5-6 h. Difference in height: +540 m / -680 m (1690-2230-1550 m).

Day 2. Kim-Asar gorge – Serkebai mount – Komisarovskiy pass – Butakovka gorge – Butakosvkiy ice-waterfall – Lesnoi pass – Kotyrbulak gorge – Pioneer hotel

Distance: 12 km; 6-7 h. Difference in height: +1270 m / -1030 m (1680-2170-1850-2200-1980-2270-1780-1920 m).

Day 3. Almatau range – Krasniy Yar valley – Belbulak gorge, Oi Karagai resort. Transfer to Almaty city (1-1,5 h).

Distance: 8 km; 4 h. Difference in height: +470 m / -770 m (1900-2370-1600 m).

Hiking route №2 

Day 1. Transfer Almaty city – Big Almaty gorge (30 min). Big Almaty river – Old Japanese road – Kazachka hotel.

Distance: 9 km; 4-5 h. Difference in height: +200 m / -580 m (1730-1930-1350 m).

Day 2. Transfer Almaty city – Kazachka gorge (45 min). Kazachka river – Kokjailau valley – Batareika gorge – Prosveschenetc – Medeu hotel.

Distance: 16 km; 8-9 h. Difference in height: +880 m / -680 m (1350-2230-1550).

Day 3. Kim-Asar gorge – Serkebai mount – Komisarovskiy pass – Butakovka gorge – Butakosvkiy ice-waterfall – Lesnoi pass – Kotyrbulak gorge – Pioneer hotel

Day 2. Transfer Medeu hotel – Shymbulak resort (15 min).  Tuyuksu valley – Alpinist’s memorial – Mynjilki dam – Glaciologocal station T-1 – back to Shymbulak. Transfer to Medeu hotel (15 min).

Distance: 18 km; 8-9 h. Difference in height: +1170 m / -1170 m (2230-3400-2230 m).

Day 3. Kim-Asar gorge – Serkebai mount – Komisarovskiy pass – Butakovka gorge – Butakosvkiy ice-waterfall – Lesnoi pass – Kotyrbulak gorge – Pioneer hotel

Distance: 12 km; 6-7 h. Difference in height: +1270 m / -1030 m (1680-2170-1850-2200-1980-2270-1780-1920 m).

Day 4. Lesnoi pass – Rock of Hope – Bukreev peak – back to Pioneer hotel.

Distance: 12 km; 7-8 h. Difference in height: +1370 m / -1370 m (1920-1780-3010-1780-1920 m).

Day 5. Almatau range – Krasniy Yar valley – Belbulak gorge, Oi Karagai resort. Transfer to Almaty city (1-1,5 h).

Distance: 8 km; 4 h. Difference in height: +470 m / -770 m (1900-2370-1600 m).
