We recommend watching this video to find out about the potential of Kazakhstan (English subtitles):

The two-days tour from the Tien Shan glaciers to sand the Singing Dune in the Almaty region.

In the tour “From the glaciers of Tien Shan to sand the Singing dunes” you will see a huge variety of landscapes, which has awarded Kazakhstan the mother nature. Just 2 hours we will go from hot and stuffy city to the Siberian forests and Arctic snow to a height of over 3000 m. This is the highest paved road in Kazakhstan. It passes on the Big Almaty gorge, where is located the homonymous mountain lake. At the finish point of the cosmicstation in any of the summer months it may snow (the height of 3333 meters). Very often there is a mist and the climate is reminiscent of the extreme North of Russia. However, at the same time, in the snow in the first half of the summer breaks many beautiful and rare flowers of the Tien Shan.

We finish the mountain part of the tour and return to bask on the plain, where we will visit the rock paintings of Tamgaly Tas, located in the picturesque valley of the Ili river. In the evening head to the Altyn Emel and not reaching a few tens of kilometers, we’ll sleep at the foot of low mountains, where not so hot as in the plains.

The morning of the second day we moved to Altyn Emel National Park, which will visit three of the most interesting attractions of this arid desert area. The Park is located across the Ili river. Directly to the Tian Shan mountains only 100 km away and in good weather they are visible. The stranger seems these places: sands the Singing dunes, lifeless, but incredibly chalk colored mountains of Aktau and extinct ancient volcanoes of the rocky mountains Katutau with the remnants of ancient lava. After exploring all the attractions of the National Park back in the city of Almaty.
